Let’s be real here on the blog for a minute: Free People was a brand that I initially could not afford. The prices for some sweaters start at $70 up to the $160’s I admired this authority on boho, vintage, feminine fashion from afar…very afar for years. I sold some old winter clothing that I wasn’t wearing. Then after lurking my wishlist for months I held out for a Black Friday Sale and purchased my first Free People sweater from Bloomingdales with the hope that I was investing in a timeless closet staple that was unique and well made.
Free People lived up to the hype for me. In my opinion if you invest in clothing that you love it will indeed become a classic closet season staple. Since then I used similar budget savvy methods to get more pieces and I love pulling out my favorites every winter. I have always had a passion for finding similar styles of seasonal favorites at a affordable price. I hope you will enjoy this round up of some similar styles from Amazon I curated to compare. Let first start with my cowl neck pullover:

Free People Cocoon Cowl Pullover
This is a light knit pullover that is so incredibly versatile. I wear it in the winter for layering but it’s great for those barely cold winter and cold days here in the south. I also wear it in the summer nights for walks on the beach. It looks cute over a bathing suit…so yeah it’s a cover up too! That is to say this piece can be worn YEAR ROUND! You will find that the reviews on this sweater are all across the board fantastic.
